L-Sit Hold Alignment Check

Wondering if your l-sit hold is aligned? Prop up your phone — GOODREPS watches your hip angle (shoulder → hip → knee) live and times the hold only while your form is right, as you work your core and triceps, with shoulders and quads assisting. HOW TO HOLD A PROPER L-SIT HOLD

Setup  Support on parallettes or the floor, side-on to the camera.

  1. Press down and lift your hips off the ground.
  2. Hold your legs straight out, parallel to the floor.
  3. Keep your arms locked and your chest tall.
Form cue: Legs straight + horizontal

Same sheet as the ⓘ panel in the app — animated demo included.

How The Check Works

THREE STEPS TO A SCORED HOLD

1

Prop your phone and get in frame

Phone at roughly torso height, set up side-on to the camera. A quick camera test checks lighting, distance, and angle before you start.

2

The camera locks a 17-point skeleton on you

GOODREPS measures your hip angle (shoulder → hip → knee) against the pose target (~90°) on-device — no wearables. Parallel bars, parallettes, or sturdy blocks — hands planted, hips off the floor.

3

Settle in — the timer only counts real alignment

The hold timer runs while you’re in the pose. Drift out and it pauses (doesn’t reset) until you find the shape again.

Under The Hood

WHAT THE CAMERA WATCHES

Fix These First

COMMON L-SIT HOLD MISTAKES

Bent knees pretending to be straight

Lock the knees if that is the standard you chose — or use a tucked L as an honest regression.

Shrugging into the neck

Push the bars away and keep ears clear of shoulders.

Leaning back instead of compressing

Hollow slightly and keep the legs active. Leaning is a different skill.

Holding your breath

Short breaths are fine. Blue-face holds end early.

Your Data

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Rep counting runs entirely on your device — your camera feed is never uploaded.

Pose detection runs in your browser via TensorFlow.js. Camera frames are analyzed in real time and immediately discarded — nothing is recorded, nothing leaves your phone, and we never see them. Sign-in is optional; skip it and everything stays local.

FAQ

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Do I need gear for l-sit hold?

Usually just floor space (and whatever the hold requires — bar, wall, or bench). Your phone camera does the coaching.

Does it work in a home gym or low light?

Run the built-in camera test first — it checks your lighting, distance, and angle with live green checks before you start. If a rep still slips through, manual counting is always one tap away.

Is my camera feed uploaded anywhere?

No. Pose detection runs entirely on your phone, in your browser. Frames are analyzed in real time and immediately discarded — nothing is recorded, nothing is uploaded.
