  1. Sink down until your thighs are near parallel, back straight.
  2. Keep your knees tracking over your toes.
  3. Hold and breathe steadily.
Form cue: Thighs parallel, back straight

Same sheet as the ⓘ panel in the app — animated demo included.

How The Check Works

THREE STEPS TO A SCORED HOLD

1

Prop your phone and get in frame

Phone at roughly torso height, stand facing the camera. A quick camera test checks lighting, distance, and angle before you start.

2

The camera locks a 17-point skeleton on you

GOODREPS measures your knee angle (hip → knee → ankle) against the pose target (~120°) on-device — no wearables. Clear floor — wide stance, knees bent, torso upright.

3

Settle in — the timer only counts real alignment

The hold timer runs while you’re in the pose. Drift out and it pauses (doesn’t reset) until you find the shape again.

Under The Hood

WHAT THE CAMERA WATCHES

Fix These First

COMMON HORSE STANCE MISTAKES

Knees caving inward

Push knees out over toes. The stance is wide on purpose.

Rising out of depth early

Own the height you set. Creeping taller ends the honest hold.

Leaning the chest forward

Ribs over hips. Hands can rest lightly; do not hang on your thighs to cheat posture.

Holding your breath

Slow breaths. Horse stance is patience training as much as legs.

Your Data

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Rep counting runs entirely on your device — your camera feed is never uploaded.

Pose detection runs in your browser via TensorFlow.js. Camera frames are analyzed in real time and immediately discarded — nothing is recorded, nothing leaves your phone, and we never see them. Sign-in is optional; skip it and everything stays local.

FAQ

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Do I need gear for horse stance?

Usually just floor space (and whatever the hold requires — bar, wall, or bench). Your phone camera does the coaching.

Does it work in a home gym or low light?

Run the built-in camera test first — it checks your lighting, distance, and angle with live green checks before you start. If a rep still slips through, manual counting is always one tap away.

Is my camera feed uploaded anywhere?

No. Pose detection runs entirely on your phone, in your browser. Frames are analyzed in real time and immediately discarded — nothing is recorded, nothing is uploaded.
