Tree Pose Alignment Check
Is your tree pose actually aligned? Prop your phone up and find out — GoodReps watches your knee angle (hip → knee → ankle) live and times the hold only while your form is right, as you work your core, with quads, calves and glutes assisting. Free, in your browser, processed entirely on your device.
▶ Check My Alignment FreeHOW TO HOLD A PROPER TREE POSE
Setup Face the camera and stand tall on one leg.
- Place the other foot on your inner thigh or calf — never on the knee.
- Press palms together at your chest or overhead.
- Fix your gaze on one point and hold; switch sides.
This is the same instruction sheet you’ll find on the ⓘ panel inside the app — with an animated demo next to it.
THREE STEPS TO A SCORED HOLD
Prop your phone and get in frame
Set your phone at roughly torso height and stand facing the camera. The built-in camera test confirms your lighting, distance, and angle with live green checks before you start.
The AI locks a 17-point skeleton on you
GoodReps measures your knee angle (hip → knee → ankle) against the pose target (~50°), entirely on your device. No wearables, no mirrors needed. No equipment — a wall within reach is a fine training partner at first.
Settle in — the timer only counts real alignment
The hold timer runs while you’re actually in the pose. Drift out of alignment and it pauses (it doesn’t reset) until you find the shape again.
WHAT THE CAMERA WATCHES
- Your lifted-leg position against the pose target (~50°) — measured live at the hip–knee–ankle chain.
- The hold itself — the timer runs only while you're balanced in the pose; wobble out and it pauses (never resets) until you're back.
- The two things that make it a tree — the form cue covers both: "Foot to inner thigh, hips level."
COMMON TREE POSE MISTAKES
Foot parked on the knee
The one hard rule: never press the foot against the side of the knee joint. Above it (inner thigh) or below it (calf) — both are proper trees.
Hip jutting out sideways
The standing hip loves to sag outward. Stack it under your shoulders and keep both hip points facing forward.
Eyes wandering
Balance lives in your gaze. Fix your eyes on one unmoving point at eye level and the wobbles calm down.
Holding your breath to balance
Breath-holding is a tell that you're gripping. Slow, even breaths actually steady the pose.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Pose detection runs in your browser via TensorFlow.js. Camera frames are analyzed in real time and immediately discarded — nothing is recorded, nothing leaves your phone, and we never see them. Sign-in is optional; skip it and everything stays local.
QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
What if I can't balance yet?
Start with your toes on the floor and heel against your ankle, or keep a hand on a wall. The timer still runs while you're aligned — balance builds fast with daily holds.
Does it work in a home gym or low light?
Run the built-in camera test first — it checks your lighting, distance, and angle with live green checks before you start.
Is my camera feed uploaded anywhere?
No. Pose detection runs entirely on your phone, in your browser. Frames are analyzed in real time and immediately discarded — nothing is recorded, nothing is uploaded.
